Light Leaders Teachers Training

On the last day of our training, Debra (Padmini) Bergman spoke to us about her program sending volunteer children's yoga teachers into the LA school system. Especially in this challenging time of major budget cuts to California schools, we would love to call on you for help!
Once you tell us of your interest, Padmini will set up an apprentice opportunity for you to observe and team-teach in the school that is most convenient for you.

There is another wonderful opportunity available to you at Third Street School, an LAUSD public school located at 201 S. June Street (just off 3rd between Vine and Highland). It is a richly diverse elementary school and has about 750 kids from grades K-5. Despite massive cuts for this upcoming school year, the parents, teachers and administration of this school are determined to provide students with a rich, inspired learning environment. Currently, a number of parents are focusing their attention on the playground which is often the most stressful time in a child's day. We recognize tremendous opportunity for enjoyment during this time and are dedicated to providing children with necessary instruction, equipment, supervision and enrichment. You would be asked to dedicate 1.5 hour per day, 1 day per week to teach yoga to the children during their recess.
